SAVE LONGSTONE EDGE

SAVE LONGSTONE EDGE

Constitution and Representation

After a well-attended public meeting in Calver, Derbyshire, in October 1997, a committee emerged that would be the driving force of the Save Longstone Edge group. To protect its committee and to put out a signal of serious intent, a company limited by guarantee was formed, with the committee as directors. Under its constitution only directors have voting rights, but the directors are bound to consult the group's 700 subscribers (quaintly termed "donators"), which they do at periodic meetings and by listening to individual subscribers.

The subscribers have donated funds generously. To sustain our campaign we welcome donations, large or small - every penny helps. If you feel that you can help us please click here.

We have close links with the Campaign for the Protection of Rural England (especially the very active Peak District and South Yorkshire Branch), the Council for National Parks, and the Friends of the Earth. These organisations help with advice, with contacts to the national media, and contacts to other relevant people and organisations.
